MATTHEW RICHARDS JR.

Hello!

My name is Matthew Richards Jr., an actor based in New York City. I am a powerful, hardworking, and charming performer who always embraces and takes joy in the challenges before me. I further pursued this drive towards performance with my time at The University of Alabama, where I earned my BA in Musical Theatre, graduated with honors, and made many lifelong connections along the way. Recently, I moved to New York City and have been working on a consistent basis since. This recent summer, I had the honor of performing in the Rev Theatre Company's Newsies as Oscar Delancey, Ensemble, and the Jack Kelly Cover. Additionally, I got the chance to go on for Jack several times throughout the run! Most recently, I was seen in Milton Theatre's Heathers as Ensemble and the J.D. cover in Milton, Delaware!

I have a deep passion for performing, yet alongside acting onstage, I have engaged in several other disciplines. I am an avid gym goer and weightlifter, and I also enjoy making and trying out new recipes in the kitchen to sustainably fuel my lifestyle. Additionally, I have played several sports in my life including Martial Arts, Football, and Hockey, and still practice Martial Arts and skating in my downtime. All thanks to God and my loved ones for their support. I cannot wait to take on the next challenge that lies ahead.
